While we were in Tuanli Mark said he was taking us to a BBQ for dinner. I was pretty excited about this because my ides of a BBQ is burgers and hotdogs and it makes me think of summer. Well that was definetly not what it was like at all.
While we were walking in the afternoon she showed us the spot of where the BBQ was going to be and it was this open area with shacks behind it. At first I thought maybe he was joking but he said it was good.
So that night we walk over and there are all these tables and chairs and in the middle of our table is this little metal box aka our little BBQ. Mark’s host teacher came with us because he knows how to speak some mandarin and could order the meat for us. The food is cooked on a big BBQ and then the girl brough us over some hot coals and put them in out little BBQ along with our meat on a stick. We cooked the meat a little longer and then you just eat the meat right off the sticks. It was yummy but I am not a huge fan of spicy food and some of it was kind of spicy. After you eat the chicken wings you just toss the bones on the ground and the stray dogs would come and eat the bones. Here is a picture of me enjoying the yummy meat!
It was a really cool experiences and the food tasted good.
